Stilbite and Apophyllite
Drawer B-MN0315
$75.00 USD
Locality:
Jalgaon District, Maharastra, India
Dimensions:
3.5 x 6.5 x 1cm
This stilbite and apophyllite formed in cavities within the Deccan Traps basalts, where mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids slowly crystallized zeolite minerals over time. The Jalgaon District is one of India’s most famous zeolite localities, known for producing striking associations of apophyllite and stilbite in well-formed clusters.
Softly lustrous stilbite paired with sharp, glassy apophyllite reflects the gentle post-volcanic mineralization processes that created these classic basalt geodes of western India.
