Hemimorphite

This hemimorphite formed in the oxidized zone of a zinc-rich deposit, where mineral-laden waters deposited delicate blue crystals in cavities within the host rock. The Santa Eulalia District is a classic Mexican locality, long known for producing beautifully crystallized secondary minerals.

Light and glassy in appearance, this specimen reflects the gentle chemical processes that create hemimorphite, as well as the rich mineral diversity of one of Mexico’s most historic mining regions.
