Mimetite-Pyromorphite series

M’Fouati is a historic mining area in the Republic of the Congo, known for its lead deposits. Mining in the region dates back to the colonial period and continued through several phases of development.

The Yanga Koubenza Quarries have produced a range of secondary lead minerals and are known among collectors for unusual specimens. Mimetite–pyromorphite series material from this locality is a less common find, making it an interesting piece from the M’Fouati district.
