Herkimer Style Quartz

Herkimer County is famous for its exceptionally clear, naturally double-terminated quartz crystals, commonly known as Herkimer Diamonds. Despite the name, they are actually quartz—not diamonds.

These crystals formed in cavities within ancient dolomite and are known for their sharp crystal faces and brilliant clarity. Herkimer County has been a classic American collecting locality for generations.
