Goethite

Goethite from Park County, Colorado, is known for its lustrous, dark blade-shaped crystals, sometimes forming sprays alongside smoky quartz. The Lake George area is particularly well known for these specimens, found in the same pegmatite region famous for amazonite and smoky quartz. Some goethite crystals also occur as pseudomorphs after calcite.
