Gibsite from the Lavrion Mining District comes from one of Greece’s oldest and most important mining regions. Mining at Lavrion dates back more than 2,500 years, with the ancient mines playing a major role in Athens’ silver production. The district is also known for its wide variety of secondary minerals found in the old workings and mine waste piles.
