Riemvasmaak is a remote area near the Orange River in South Africa's Northern Cape, close to the Namibian border. The area is known among collectors for its fluorite occurrences.

Riemvasmaak fluorite became especially well known for purple and green crystals, often found in pockets within the local rocks. The locality is also notable because specimens were collected from a relatively remote desert area rather than a major commercial mining district.
