Dolomite with Chalcopyrite

Black Rock is a historic mining locality in northeastern Arkansas, part of the Ozark region, which has a long history of lead and zinc mining.

The area became an important mining center during the 1800s, with numerous small mines and prospects developed across the region. Black Rock is known for producing a variety of minerals from these old workings.

Specimens from the locality are relatively uncommon, making this a nice representation of the historic mineral districts of northern Arkansas.
