M’Fouati is one of the mining districts of the Republic of the Congo. Mining here dates back to the early 1900s, with the district becoming known for its lead, zinc, and copper deposits.

The old M’Fouati workings have produced a surprisingly diverse range of collector minerals. Cerussite, cuprite, calcite, and dolomite are among the minerals found there, making M’Fouati an interesting and relatively uncommon African locality for collectors.
