Calcite

Leiping Mine is best known among collectors for its distinctive calcite twins, particularly the “fishtail” or “butterfly” crystals found in the late 1990s. Some specimens show clear to golden calcite with hematite inclusions and sharp secondary crystals covering the matrix. The famous 884 Mine find from 1998 helped establish Leiping as one of China’s classic calcite localities.
