Aurichalciite

This aurichalcite formed in the oxidized zone of a zinc- and copper-rich deposit, where mineral-laden waters precipitated delicate, fibrous blue-green crystals across the host rock. The Ojuela Mine is a classic Mexican locality, renowned for its wide variety of secondary minerals and intricate crystal forms.

Light and silky in appearance, this specimen reflects the gentle, late-stage processes that occur near the Earth’s surface, as well as the rich mineral diversity that has made Ojuela a favorite among collectors.
