Apophyllite and Stilbite

Jalgaon is part of the Deccan Traps, a volcanic region formed by lava flows. The area is well known for collecting minerals from cavities within the basalt.

Apophyllite and stilbite are among the classic zeolite minerals found in Maharashtra. Collectors have been finding specimens from the region for many decades, making Maharashtra one of India's most important areas for zeolite specimens.
