Topaz, Garnet and Bixbyite

The rhyolite hills have produced gem-quality topaz, red bixbyite, garnet, and other rare minerals for over a century. These minerals formed in gas-rich volcanic cavities, making the Thomas Range one of the few places in the world where topaz and bixbyite are commonly found together.
