Pyrite with Iridescent

Drawer G- MN0320

$85.00 USD

Locality:

Pyrite Mine, West Kalimantan Province, Kalimantan Island, Indonesia

Dimensions:

4.5 x 3 x 2.5 cm

This pyrite formed in hydrothermal conditions, where iron and sulfur crystallized into metallic forms later exposed to surface alteration. The iridescent colors developed as a thin oxidation layer formed on the crystal surfaces, creating shifting hues across the metallic luster.

Vibrant and reflective, this specimen captures both the original formation of pyrite and the later natural processes that give rise to its striking rainbow-like sheen.
