Calcite

This calcite formed in hydrothermal veins, where calcium-rich fluids crystallized within open spaces in the host rock, producing well-defined crystal forms. The Southwest Mine is a lesser-known Arizona locality, but part of a region rich in diverse mineralization and classic Western mining history.

Clear to softly toned and naturally geometric, this specimen reflects the steady conditions of crystal growth and the quiet mineral-forming processes beneath Arizona’s desert landscape.
