$130.00 USD

Locality:

Arusha Merelani Hills, Tanzania

Dimensions:

2 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm

This pyrite formed in a metamorphic environment, where iron and sulfur combined under heat and pressure to create sharp, metallic crystals within the host rock. The Merelani Hills are best known for tanzanite, but also produce a range of associated minerals, including well-formed pyrite.

Bright and geometric, this specimen reflects the dynamic conditions of formation and adds a metallic contrast to one of Tanzania’s most famous mineral localities.
