Hemimorphite

This hemimorphite formed in the oxidized zone of a zinc-rich deposit, where mineral-laden waters altered primary ores and deposited delicate blue crystals in cavities within the host rock. The Palabanda Quarries are known for producing vibrant, glassy hemimorphite specimens that stand out among African mineral localities.

Both fragile and luminous, this piece reflects the quiet chemical processes that transform buried ore into striking surface minerals, as well as the rich mining heritage of the Mfouati region.
