The Santa Eulalia Mining District is one of Mexico's most historic mining regions, known for its lead, zinc, silver, and fluorite deposits. The district has produced a wide variety of collectible minerals and remains one of Chihuahua's most important mineral localities.

This specimen is a pseudomorph, meaning fluorite has replaced an earlier calcite crystal while preserving the original calcite shape. These replacements provide evidence of changing mineralizing conditions within the deposit and are a well-known feature of some Santa Eulalia specimens.

Mina El Carmen is one of several mines within the district that has produced notable fluorite specimens and mineral replacements.
