Austinite

Gold Hill is a mining district in western Utah, where mining began in the late 1800s. The area was worked primarily for precious and base metals, leaving behind numerous old mines and workings.

The Gold Hill district is also known among collectors for producing a variety of uncommon minerals. Austinite is one of the more unusual species found in the district, making specimens from this Utah locality especially interesting to collectors.
