This aurichalcite formed in the oxidized zone of a copper- and zinc-rich deposit, where mineral-rich waters deposited delicate, fibrous blue-green crystals across the host rock. The 79 Mine is a well-known Arizona locality, prized for its vibrant and finely crystallized secondary minerals.

Soft, silky, and vividly colored, this specimen reflects the gentle surface processes that create aurichalcite, as well as the rich mineral heritage of Arizona’s historic mining districts.
