Anhydrite,Sphalerite and Calcite

The Naica Mine is a famous mineral locality, best known for its extraordinary giant gypsum crystals. The mine became internationally famous after the discovery of the Cave of the Crystals, where some crystals reached more than 30 feet in length.

Beyond the famous crystal caves, Naica has a long history as a major underground mining operation and has produced a wide variety of collector minerals. Anhydrite, sphalerite, and calcite are part of the diverse mineral assemblage found within this remarkable Chihuahua locality.
