Ren

Helloooo. I was managing a cute little head shop at the Lake of the Ozarks when my best friend, Dev, came to visit me in her van. I was burnt out, depressed, and over the environment I was in. She told me she knew a little lady named Mary in Arizona who needed help for the 2025 Gem Show. I put my two weeks in right there on the spot.

I came from selling to little amethyst tumbles with questionable authenticity to now handling things like Spodumenes, Wulfenites, Native Silver, and so many other things I have never seen before. I am so thrilled to still be here, learning from some of the most well-known mineral collectors in the area, as well as making friends from all over the world. My favorite part is that even though I am basically clueless about localities and chemical compositions, everyone has been so eager to share their knowledge and help without judgement as I find my footing. Everyone is celebrated for what they bring to the table and it's like the family I never had.

My day to day at Nexus consists of mostly making content for our social media pages, along with whatever else this crazy woman asks me to do.

I am truly so lucky to have found a community in the mineral world, and I even have quite a collection going of my own! In other words, I owe Mary a lot of money!

@mineralnexus This is from back when I first started at Mineral Nexus and Mary had us opening all kinds of packaged up rocks and minerals for her to go through... I had no idea what I was looking at. 😅 But I was mesmerized. This is probably the day I knew I was hooked. #crystals #minerals #rocks #unboxing ♬ original sound - SpongeBob background music
